The method requires using a third-party app coupled with a video downloader website. It may seem a bit complex but this is currently the easiest method I found in the community.

How to save Twitter videos on iPhone
Step 1: You need to install an app that allows us to save videos from the Internet. In this article, I recommend installing My Media (it’s free).
The My Media app is a popular download manager for iPhone and iPad. You cannot download video or audio by using Safari but with My Media, it’s easy.
There are actually many video downloader apps that let you save videos directly from the Web, including Youtube, Facebook,… to your iPhone. Here are the best apps we recommend. Check it out if you’re interested in this topic!

Step 2: Open the Twitter app on your iPhone. Find the tweet that contains the video you want to download. Next, tap on the share button below the tweet and select “Share Tweet via…”.
When the share sheet shows up, select “Copy Link”. Now the link to the tweet has been copied to your clipboard.
Step 3: Open My Media, and open the Browser tab in the bottom-left corner. In the address bar, enter this URL: http://twittervideodownloader.com/ and tap Go. When the website is loaded, u
Step 4: When it’s done, scroll down, you will find different video sizes to download. Just choose the size you need and tap “Download Video”. Click “Download the file” to confirm the process, then enter the name of the video you wish to download -> Tap “Save”.
Step 5: After the video has been downloaded, you will find it in the Media tab. Tap on the video, you have many options including play, open in other apps, save to Camera Roll, and export file.

How to Download Twitter videos to your computer
Using your computer is less time-consuming than on an iOS device. Just in a few clicks…
Step 1: Open the web browser on your computer, go to Twitter and find the video you want to download.
Step 2: Click on the three dots icon and select Copy link to Tweet. Press Ctrl + C to grab the URL to the Tweet in the pop-up.
If it’s on Vine, just click through to the Vine website and right-click on the video in your browser and select Save video… (or a similar option). The file will then be stored on your hard drive as an MP4 file.
Step 3: Go to http://twittervideodownloader.com/ Paste the URL that you’ve copied and hit Download
Step 4: Wait for the website to get the download link. Once completed, click on “Download” button to start your download. Or right-click on the button and click “Save Link As…” to download.
Now you’ve downloaded videos successfully to your computer. It’s time to sync them to your device. You can use iTunes or any tool that allows you to transfer files between the computer and your iPhone.
Note for Android users: You can apply these steps to download Twitter videos to Android devices as well. Android has an open filesystem so saving files will be as easy as on a computer.

How To Save Video From Twitter
If you often have to download videos not only from Twitter but from many other media websites like Youtube, DailyMotion, Vimeo or Facebook,… I recommend you to install a helper add-on/extension on your web browser. Currently, I’m using Google Chrome as my main browser and have an extension named Twitter Video Assist installed. It works just fine!
After you install this extension on your web browser, each time you open a Tweet containing a video, a download button will appear below the tweet, next to the Like button on the right. You can just click on it to start downloading the video.
